Next year marks the 150th anniversary of the opening shots of the Civil War with the attack on Fort Sumter in South Carolina. Many travelers soon will be visiting Gettysburg, the hamlet that marked the war's bloodiest fighting, but history and war buffs should also consider a trip to Harrisburg.

Stevenage history book published

A NEW book detailing the history of Stevenage has been published. Stevenage: A History from Roman Times to the Present Day has been written by authors in the town, Margaret Ashby and Don Hills.
